Testimonials

"Just over 3 weeks ago I reached out to Ryan for some coaching on finger techniques to help clean up my single strokes and increase speed. I made the decision based on one of [Better Drumming's] YouTube videos which was very clear and easy to understand. The coaching went extremely well and within in a week I understood the finger techniques 100% better and experienced rapid improvements. Also, thanks for the coaching on flow and the Clave. I feel that I have uncovered some fundamental techniques, approaches and how to use the metronome to enhance my practice sessions. Thanks for your chilled and detailed coaching which will definitely support me in reaching my drumming goals."-Lucean B.

FAQs

How long is each coaching session?

Each session runs for approximately one hour.

Can I book just one session, or do you offer ongoing coaching?

Absolutely. You can book a one-off session if you’ve got specific questions or challenges. I also offer ongoing weekly coaching for drummers who want consistent support and structured guidance as they work toward their drumming goals.

What platform do you use for the sessions?

All coaching is done via Google Meet. It’s free and easy to use—just join from a laptop through a web browser, or from an iPhone or tablet using the Google Meet app.

Do I need a specific setup or gear for the session?

No special setup is needed—just your drum kit (acoustic or electronic) and a device with a camera. Using headphones or earphones is recommended for clearer audio and communication during the session.

Who is this coaching for?

These sessions are open to anyone, but they’re best suited for committed drummers who are serious about improving and want to level up their drumming with focused, practical coaching.

What age do you offer coaching for?

Coaching is geared towards adults, but I’m happy to work with younger drummers if a parent or guardian is present during the session.

What do you cover in the sessions?

Every session is fully customised based on your level and goals. When you book, just include a quick note about your current experience and what you’d like to focus on, and I’ll tailor the session to suit your needs.

Do you offer a free intro call?

Yes—I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute call if you’d like to chat before committing to a session. It’s a great way to ask questions and see if the coaching is right for you.

Do you provide notes or exercises after the session?

Yes, I’ll send through any relevant exercise sheets to support your practice. Note-taking during the session is highly encouraged so you leave with clear direction and focus.

How much does it cost?

Each coaching session is $100 AUD.

How do I pay?

Once we confirm your session time, I’ll send an invoice via PayPal to the email address you provide. Payment is required upfront to secure your spot.

How far in advance should I book?

It’s best to book at least a couple of days ahead, depending on availability.

What’s your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

If you need to reschedule, please give at least 24 hours’ notice. If a session is missed without notice or reason, I’m happy to offer a one-time reschedule, but future missed sessions will be charged.
